SOLAR FARM WATER DELIVERY FOR THE PERMIAN BASIN
Water Runner delivers bulk water delivery for utility-scale solar farm projects across the Permian Basin and the entire West Texas energy corridor. We serve every water phase your project requires: dust control and compaction moisture during earthwork, batch water for concrete production, potable water for large crews, and high-purity water for panel washing and commissioning.
Based in West Texas with over 25 years of experience, our team deploys directly to remote and off-grid solar sites. We work with EPC contractors, utility-scale developers, and O&M asset managers to keep water off your critical path..
Who delivers bulk water to solar farms in the Permian Basin?
Water Runner LLC is a Midland, TX-based bulk water hauler serving utility-scale solar farm projects across the Permian Basin. The company delivers three water grades from one TCEQ-licensed source: potable water for crews, reverse osmosis (RO) water for panel washing, and deionized (DI) water for commissioning. Service is 24/7 with same-day mobilization to most basin sites.
Counties served in the Permian Basin:
- Midland, Ector, Andrews, Howard, Martin
- Ward, Reeves, Pecos, Crane, Winkler
- Upton, Reagan, and surrounding counties
Permian Solar & Renewables Pipeline
Utility-scale solar and storage development is advancing across the basin from Pecos and Reeves Counties in the west through Ward, Andrews, Martin, and Howard Counties, with project density concentrated along ERCOT West load-zone transmission. The combination of high solar resource, available rural acreage, oilfield brownfield reuse, and strong interconnection economics has positioned the Permian as one of the largest solar buildout regions in Texas.
High-Dust Arid Climate
The Permian sits in a semi-arid, high-wind climate with persistent caliche dust, summer-month soiling, and limited natural rainfall. Solar projects across the basin experience some of the heaviest soiling profiles in the U.S. solar fleet, making structured water delivery for both construction dust control and operational panel washing a direct driver of energy production and revenue.
Home Region, 24/7 Availability
The Permian Basin is Water Runner's home territory. Our Midland headquarters, fleet, and TCEQ-licensed water sources are based here, which means same-day mobilization for most basin counties, 24/7 driver availability, and direct relationships with the EPCs, civil contractors, and O&M crews already operating across the region.
Inside the Permian Solar Buildout
Three Water Grades. One Vendor.
Solar projects need different types of water for different jobs. We deliver all three from one TCEQ-licensed source, with one purchase order and one chain of custody for your QA/QC binder.
Potable Water
Clean drinking water for crew trailers, gate houses, hand-wash stations, and safety equipment. Meets federal drinking water standards and arrives with lab documentation.
Reverse Osmosis
Low-mineral water for general panel washing and as feed water for on-site DI polishing rigs operated by your wash subcontractor. Two delivery models, one source.
Deionized Water
Spot-free, ultra-pure water for commissioning washes and high-purity O&M cleaning. Protects panel performance, warranties, and long-term output.

Four services that cover the full life of a utility-scale solar farm, from groundbreaking through 30-plus years of operations.
Dust Control Water
Scheduled and on-call bulk water delivery for grading, haul roads, and active construction zones. Keeps your site compliant and your neighbors happy.
Crew Drinking Water
TCEQ-source potable water for trailers, break stations, and safety stations. Scales from one tank to many as your headcount grows.
Panel Wash Water
RO and DI water for routine cleaning, commissioning, and post-storm recovery. Two delivery options to fit your wash crew's setup.
Storage and Specialty
Bulk storage tanks for rent or purchase, plus water for concrete work, fire-watch refills, and revegetation seeding.
Why Permian Basin Solar Projects Choose Water Runner
A water vendor that already understands remote energy sites, regulatory paperwork, and the pace of construction.
One Vendor, Every Water Type
Stop juggling three suppliers. One purchase order, one point of contact, one source of documentation across your whole project.
Built for Texas Energy Work
Operating since 1997 from the Permian Basin. Our drivers know remote sites, lease roads, and the rhythm of construction schedules.
Documentation You Can Audit
TCEQ-licensed source, USDOT-registered carrier, lab tests on potable deliveries, and load tickets with every drop. Everything goes straight into your safety binder.
Concrete Production and Dust Compaction Water
Two water needs decide whether earthwork and foundations stay on schedule, and both show up on sites that sit past the end of the nearest water main. We deliver them from the same TCEQ-licensed source as everything else on your project, on one purchase order and one chain of custody.
Concrete Production
Batch and cure water for foundations, equipment pads, and slabs. When a site cannot draw the volume a pour requires, that water has to be hauled in and staged against the pour calendar rather than ordered the morning of. Tell us your schedule and we build delivery around it, with load tickets on every drop for your QA/QC binder.
Dust Compaction
Dust suppression on haul roads and active zones, plus the compaction moisture that brings subgrade to optimum water content before rolling. Graded pads that dry out and pads that take on rain both stall equipment, so we run scheduled routes through the dry stretches and on-call loads when a surface has to be reworked.
Both are available on scheduled routes and on call.
Permian Basin Solar Farm Water FAQs
Does Water Runner serve solar projects across the Permian Basin?
Yes. The Permian Basin is Water Runner's home service region. We support utility-scale solar projects across Midland, Ector, Andrews, Howard, Martin, Ward, Reeves, Pecos, Crane, Winkler, Upton, Reagan, and surrounding counties, with 24/7 fleet availability from our Midland, TX headquarters and same-day mobilization for most basin sites.
What types of water does Water Runner deliver for solar farm projects?
We deliver three treated water grades from one TCEQ-licensed source: potable water for crew supply and safety stations, reverse osmosis (RO) water for general panel washing and as feed water for on-site DI polishing rigs, and deionized (DI) water for commissioning washes and high-purity O&M cleaning. We also supply construction water from the same source for dust control, compaction moisture, and concrete production. Every grade is available from a single point of contact, on one purchase order.
When should we engage a water vendor for our solar farm project?
Engage Water Runner before mobilization day, ideally 60 to 180 days ahead of ground-break. Procurement teams use this lead time to onboard us as an approved vendor, validate insurance and credentials, and lock in volume-tiered terms. EPC superintendents and O&M asset managers can also reach us on shorter notice for surge needs, including post-storm wash campaigns and emergency response.
Does Water Runner provide documentation for our QA/QC and SWPPP binders?
Yes. Every delivery includes a load ticket with source, volume, date, and water grade. Potable deliveries include a water-quality lab test. SWPPP-compatible delivery tickets are formatted to drop directly into your BMP documentation binder, supporting EPA NPDES, TCEQ, OSHA 1926.51, and ANSI Z358.1 reporting requirements.
What is the Rapid Fill RO System and when is it available?
The Rapid Fill RO System is a dual-stage, high-recovery reverse osmosis plant built for high-volume panel wash and commissioning campaigns. It produces up to 400 GPM on-site, combining a 300 GPM primary stage with a 100 GPM secondary stage that recovers water from the reject stream, which cuts waste water discharge volume compared to single-pass RO. The system launches in Summer 2026, with pre-launch registration open now for priority scheduling.
