Imperial sits along US-190 in central Pecos County, positioned between the active Delaware Basin upstream development zone to the northwest and the Waha Hub infrastructure complex that anchors Pecos County's midstream significance, giving it direct access to service crews, construction contractors, and oilfield operators working across some of the most active pipeline and processing corridors in West Texas. Pecos County ranks among the top 25 counties in Texas for barrels of oil equivalent produced, with more than 10,500 wells drilled since 1993 (MineralAnswers), sustaining active upstream operations that layer water demand for well servicing, pad construction, and dust suppression on top of the midstream facility and pipeline water requirements driven by the current expansion cycle. Processing plant construction and pipeline installation at this scale require bulk water access from the earliest phases of civil site preparation through equipment installation, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning operations, and contractors who arrive without a confirmed supply partner compete for sourcing capacity already committed to multiple active midstream builds.
